Last year my birthday celebration was one of the last gatherings of 2020. This year it is a Zoom Party for me (text or call if you want to join the fun).
I’m so fortunate to have an incredible community supporting me and wishing me happiness on my birthday!
I got pretty treats to eat with my tea, a themed set of “stay warm” accessories for my Forty-Two Places Tour of the UK in 2022 (That husband, he’s thinking ahead!), some special mud-mask, and other wonderful wishes for another year around this small, unregarded yellow sun.
I’m doubly lucky because my birthday is during The Month of Letters, so all of my pen pals and correspondents are upping their games and sending very special messages via the post.

I wrote two fun lists for this year of Zoom Birthday Parties. I hope they make you giggle:
Top 10 Reasons Pandemic Zoom Birthday Parties Aren’t All Bad:
#10 – No one thinks it’s rude to invite your pets.
#9 – No pants! (Yes PJs!)
#8 – Thanks to bad lighting, bad camera, and gallery view, no one can really see you anyway.
#7 – ALL. THE. CAKE. IS. MINE.
#6 – No one finishes off your favorite snacks.
#5 – Everybody does not spend the whole evening in the kitchen.
#4 – Use your own bathroom, no line.
#3 – “Sorry, my internet cut out.”
#2 – Geography is bunk.
#1 – No clean-up for the host!
Top 10 Reasons Pandemic Zoom Birthday Parties Are The Worst:
#10 – It’s only possible to be in one breakout room at a time.
#9 – Kibosh on interesting side conversations to overhear and drift off to.
#8 – Yes, you should wear a bra. They can see that bit.
#7 – All the cake will now convert directly to cellulite.
#6 – If you run out of TP, you can’t blame the host.
#5 – “What’s that horrible noise?” “It’s my bird.”
#4 – Headphone cord doesn’t reach the liquor cabinet.
#3 – Deep and heartfelt messages have too many witnesses.
#2 – No hidcote bartrams, which are the universe telling you you should just stay and have another drink!
#1 – No hugs.
It isn’t possible to say this enough: Thank you to all of you Blog Subscribers and supporters of my work. Having you with me on this adventure is what makes it all worthwhile.
Love to you all!
–Yvette
