‘Set to Stun’ at Gunnersbury Park Museum (Get Cool Swag)

Hey fellow froods! Have you seen this opportunity to support Gunnersbury Park Museum and get cool swag?

Given our interest in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (yes, American spelling), the Gunnersbury Park Museum thought their upcoming SF exhibition might be of interest to us.

They’re planning an exhibition in London, ‘Set to Stun’, a celebration of Sci-Fi film and television design from the 1960s through to today. They hope to turn the camera onto the West London creatives who brought some of our favorite SF to life.

The exhibit will feature monsters, props, and scenes from Doctor Who, Red Dwarf, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and much more. The museum is collaborating with some of the creatives who made these SF shows happen, including designer Jeremy Bear and model maker Mike Tucker.

David Learner, the voice of Marvin the Paranoid Android, is giving an exclusive reading from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. The original Marvin the Paranoid Android costume is already featured as part of the exhibition; He’s in residence in the permanent gallery!

The museum calls their exhibit dreams “very ambitious,” and to make it happen they’re running a crowdfunding campaign with Art Fund. The museum wanted to let us know that as fellow fans, if we’re interested in limited edition or signed Sci-Fi merch, there are great funding rewards. Here is the direct link to check out the Art Fund page:

the Gunnersbury Park Museum is a non-profit, community-centered organisation. They’re doing this for the love of British Sci-Fi, and to introduce all generations to West London’s rich history of creativity through this immersive, all-encompassing exhibition.

Once staged, the exhibition will be free and open to all.
