Looking for something wonderful to listen to on Valentine’s Day? My valentine for you this year is The Venom in The Valentine, released on my birthday!

Back In 2017, when it was first published, I posted a book review for it and alluded to the fact that it was my first written credit for providing developmental editing. I also wrote about doing work For Fun Or Money. Often Both.

Since the distributor missed the all-important-V-day deadline, I never discussed this HUGE recording milestone on my blog. In part that’s because I talked about other aspects of working on it, like cosplaying Viola at Emerald City Comic Con.

In fact, there was so much to talk about that I never got around to telling my fans what FUN it was to record. Editing the book boosted my investment in the story and the characters. For the first time I felt I needed to research a character more deeply than the info my author provided.

Miriam, an 80-year-old woman from Paraguay, was almost too much fun. I imagined what someone would sound like after leaving their native country and making their way in the era of Silver Screen Hollywood. She had such a great past that I wanted her voice to really reflect all of the life she had lived, and who she was by the time we met her.

I had a fabulous time recording the book and I think you’ll be able to tell if you give The Venom in The Valentine, a listen. It truly is a perfect mystery for V-day.

I’m wishing you the best no matter what type of love you’re celebrating: filial, romantic, convivial, platonic. Happy Valentine’s day!
