Join The Works of Douglas Book Club
Be part of a monthly virtual slouch for talking about Douglas Adams’ media.
Our club started out celebrating Douglas Adams’ published works by reading a book each month. Then we slouched over to Zoom to gush or winge over bits delightful or dubious.
We proceeded to take on the Radio Programmes, from Primary to Hexagonal Phases, and now we have moved on to collections of essays.

Let Me Talk Books With Froods! Why would I want to chat about books?
1. The Original Radio Series first aired in March 1978. 2020 was the 42-year anniversary of the Radio Plays and it is fascinating to discuss how revolutionary they were at the time and what works/doesn’t work nowadays.
2. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy novel was commissioned and published in the UK in October 1979. 2021 was 42 years for the UK publication, and fans in the US and UK often have different opinions about what they liked best and worst about the novels.
Sign Me Up to Read The Books! The pandemic is over, but it’s fun to meet your mates in virtual space.
It’s fun to connect with other fans who love the things you love! There will be trivia, prizes, discussions, and opinions! Find yourself a Heart of Gold Zoom background and come be with your fellow fans.
We meet on the final Sunday of the month. If that needs to change, we’ll move the party. We can do that. It floats. Click any button to get the list of books, the Zoom room info, and an invitation to our private FB group: The Outside of the Asylum.
Once you’re in, join the chat and be part of the planning for other club details.
